Agnes Water - Town of 1770

Von Hervey Bay aus bin ich wieder mit dem Velo unterwegs gewesen. Die erste Etappe brachte mich bis kurz vor die Stadt Bundaberg. Nach 116km wurde es leider dunkel und ich fuehlte mich nicht mehr so wohl auf der Strasse. Als ich dann an einem Country Club vorbei kam, fragte ich, ob sie einen Ort haetten an dem ich mein Zelt aufstellen konnte. Das war dann kein Problem und es war mal etwas anderes als die Campingplaetze. Ich durfte die Duschen vom Fussballklub benutzen (ohne Licht zwar) und es gab leckere Spaghetti Carbonara die ich nach dieser bis jetzt laengsten Etappe noetig hatte. Am naechsten Tag fuhr ich durch Bundaberg wo der Bundi Rum herkommt. Er ist neben Cola die zweite Zutat fuer den hier sehr beliebten Drink Bundi Coke. Ich wollte dann bis Agnes Water fahren, aber ich schaffte es nicht und versuchte mein Glueck dieses Mal bei einem privaten Haus am Strassenrand, 50km vor meinem Ziel. Ich wurde von einem angetrunkenen Jugendlichen begruesst dessen erste Fragen waren ob ich trinke und rauche. Als dann der Sohn des Hauses auch so um die 23 herauskam wurde mein Begruessungskommitee ansanft weggeschickt und mir wurde der ganze Rasen hinter dem Haus zur Verfuegung gestellt. Als naechtes begruesste mich der Vater und lud mich zum Nachtessen ein. Die Leute waren sehr nett, nur mit dem Hund konnte ich mich nicht anfreunden. Als ich am Tag darauf in Agnes Water ankam musste ich zu meiner Enttaeuschung feststellen, dass das Hostel "cool Bananas" (http://www.coolbananas.net.au) das mir so sehr empfohlen worden war ausgebucht war. Ich quartierte mich also auf dem Campingplatz ein wo es sehr schoen war und ich nette Nachbaren hatte. Die naechste Ueberraschung war, dass der Zug mit dem ich dann weiter in den Norden fahren wollte ausgebucht war. Also blieb ich etwas laenger in diesem vom Tourismus noch nicht so stark belasteten Ort. Heute ist mein letzter Tag in Agnes Water, ich hatte eine wunderbare Zeit hier. Nach drei Tagen fand ich dann doch noch einen Platz im Cool Bananas und es ist wirklich ein super Hostel. Da ich mich ja mit der Idee beschaeftige in der Schweiz ein Hostel zu eroeffnen, bin ich ueberall am Ideen sammeln.
Ich war hier noch ein letztes Mal surfen (weiter noerdlich gibts keine geeigneten Wellen mehr wegen dem Barrier Reef) und es hat riesen Spass gemacht. Ich war auch zum ersten Mal beim Barrier Reef draussen auf der Insel Lady Musgrave. Ein kleines Paradies und beim Schnorcheln sah ich mehrere Schildkroeten, die mag ich.
Kennt jemand den Ausdruck Kleckerburg? Am Strand hab ich mit Freunden meine erste Sandburg in Australien gebaut, eben eine Kleckerburg. Da werden auf dem Burgwall ganz viele Tuermchen aus nassem Sand gekleckert, sieht super aus.
Morgen gehts jetzt also mit dem Zug von Miriam Vale nach Proserpine und dann radle ich nach Airlie Beach. Ich hab schon einen dreitaegigen Segeltrip gebucht auf einem grossen Schiff(http://www.ozsailing.com.au/vessel.php?sailing=Derwent%20Hunter).



After Hervey Bay I am again cycling. The first part brought me just before of the town Bundaberg. After 116km it was allready dark outside and I didnt feel save on the roads anymore. When I passed a country club I asked them if they had a place where I could put up my tent. It was no problem and it was a nice change from staying on campsites. I was allowed to use the shower of the soccer club (without lights) and I had delicious spaghetti carbonara for dinner, what was realy necessary after this long ride. The next day I rode through Bunderberg where the Bundi rum is made. Besides Coke, that the other ingredient fur the popular drink Bundi Coke. Then I wanted to cycle to Agnes Water, but I couldnt make it and this time I tried my luck by asking at a private house, 50km before Agnes. I was welcomed by a young drunk fellow who asked me if I drink and smoke. After that the son, abouyt 23 years old, of the family who lives in the house came out and sent his friend away he told me I could camp behind there house wherever I wanted. Nest thing, the father of the family comes out of the house, welcomes me and invites me for dinner. Those poeple were very kind, only there dog I couldnt stand. When I arrived in Agnes Water the next day I was told, to my disapointment, that the hostel "cool bananas" (http://www.coolbananas.net.au) which had been recomended to me very much, was fully booked. I went to the campground which was very nice and where I had nice nabours. The next surprise was, that the train I wanted to take was fully booked too. That way I stayed a bit longer in this still from tourism unaffected town. Today is my last day in Agnes Water, I had a great time here. After three days I got a bed in the cool bananas and it's realy a cool hostel. Since I'm thinking about starting my own hostel back in Switzerland, i'm looking for good ideas everywhere.
In Agnes I went surfing the last time (further north there are no good waves anymore, because of the Barrier Reef) it was great fun. I also went to the barrier reef for the first time on the island Lady Musgrave. A small paradise and when I went snorkeling I saw many turtels, I like them.
Does anybody know the word "Kleckerburg"? I built my first sandcastle with my friends at the beach, and it was a Kleckerburg. This means that the wall of the castle is made out of many little towers from dripping wet sand, it looks great.
Tomorrow I will cycle to Miriam Vale where I take the train to Proserpine from where I will cycle to Airlie Beach. I booked a 3 days sailing-trip on a tall ship (http://www.ozsailing.com.au/vessel.php?sailing=Derwent%20Hunter).
